In a world that can often seem fractured, disconnected and full of conflict, human relationships and the systems that exist to hold them have never been more important. As an IB educator, my practice over the last decade has evolved through encounters with human centred innovation initiatives, Compassionate Systems, visible thinking and inquiry based learning. Although these experiences have influenced my teaching, I still work in a space that can prioritise silos over systems in a way that synthetically prevents real world problem solving.
Having completed the introduction to Compassionate Systems course, I was inspired both by the human connections that I made and the capabilities of the tools and mindsets I encountered; now I want to deepen my understanding and build on this initial work by seeking greater opportunities for practical application.
