Sargina Yonan serves as the Director of Expanded Learning at Linden Unified School District, bringing over two decades of dedicated experience to the expanded learning field. Since 2008, she has passionately advocated for students, families, and staff, championing their needs at district, regional, and state levels. Her core values of advocacy, service, and authenticity guide her every endeavor.
The programs she oversees aim to bridge the educational gap by offering academic support, enrichment activities, and social-emotional learning opportunities. These programs are designed to help students excel academically and develop essential life skills in a safe and nurturing environment. By collaborating with educators, parents, and community partners, Sargina strives to create a positive and impactful experience for every student served.

These strengths enable her to generate creative ideas, build strong relationships, and constantly seek knowledge to enhance her work.
In 2018, Sargina’s journey of professional growth led her to ASAPconnect’s School of Leadership and Facilitation, where she completed the program and assumed the role of a TA Coach. In this capacity, she provides one-on-one transitional coaching, conducts workshops, and offers technical assistance and professional development throughout the region and state. Her efforts have significantly contributed to creating environments where staff can reach their full potential.
Currently, Sargina is deepening her understanding of the Compassionate Systems framework, emphasizing connection before content. She is dedicated to fostering self-growth, showing up compassionately, and enhancing her reflective practice. Her vision is to integrate compassionate systems into all aspects of education, enhancing the well-being and development of students and educators alike. In her role as Director, Sargina leverages her expertise to motivate and equip staff with the tools needed to implement these systems that prioritize students’ overall well-being.
