Sahala has been doing strategic facilitation since 1996, focusing on aligning or engaging the human side of the organization through experiential learning. He holds bachelor degree in Psychology, professional degree as Psychologist, and also post-graduate degree in Strategic Management. He is currently taking a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership. 

Sahala studied experiential learning method and group facilitation from Eagle’s Flight Creative Training based in Canada, Asia Works Corporate Division based in Hong Kong, and expanding his expertise on facilitation by attending courses led by world-renowned experts in facilitation and brain-based learning such as Sivasailam “Thiagi” Thiagarajan, Colin Beard, Roger Greenaway, Eric Jensen, Simon Beames, Clifford Knapp, and Geoff Bellman. He is familiar with the LeadershipPLENTY module – which he learned while serving as facilitator for Cornerstone Program for Community Leadership – and initiative by Kenan Flagler Business School University of North Carolina at Chappell Hill. 

Sahala has been involved as trustee in a small elementary school named Gemala Ananda since 2007. He also plays the rule as facilitator and assisting the school in its organizational development and teacher capacity building as a volunteer. 

Sahala also serves as member of the advisory board of Bina Antarbudaya – The Indonesian Foundation for Intercultural Learning since 2020. Beginning this year (2022), he also serves as chair-person for Indonesian Chapter of International Association of Facilitators (IAF). All roles are served as a volunteer.
