My name is Myrle Morven, my Nisga’a name is Hada which means ‘breeze’. A name my late Mother
called at the Nass River in July 2018.
I am the youngest daughter of the lates Joseph & Pauline Grandison. I have been married to Earl
Morven since November 11, 2011. I live in New Aiyansh with my husband, our grandson and our cat
Smaxy (Smax is the root word and means ‘Bear’- I added the y because we love Smaxy so ‘beary’
much, and dog Bik’is which means ‘naughty’. Anyone who meets her knows why her name is Bik’is.
I am a Ksim-Gisk’aast (killerwhale) from Wilps Wisin Xbil’tkw.
I have been a knowledge keeper and elder-in-training for School District 92 (Nisga’a) since August
2022. I have attended at least four Compassionate Systems training with Mette and Peter. The most
recent being in Gitwinksihlkw BC in April 2026.
My 9-5 job is Legislative Assistant and Reporting Officer for Nisga’a Lisims Government since March
2013. I coordinate quarterly sittings of Wilp Si’ayuukhl Nisga’a for 37 elected members, ensure their
paperwork is in order prior to being sworn in. My Reporting Officer role is to receive code
complaints from Nisga’a citizens who feel an elected member has breached the code of conduct.
