Leah Lamattina serves as the Director of Foster and Homeless Youth Services for the Humboldt County Office of Education in Eureka, California.  Born and raised on Long Island, New York she moved to Humboldt County at the age of 25, drawn to the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. It is amongst the Redwoods and alongside the mighty Pacific Ocean that she has chosen to raise her child and her four-legged family members.

Leah has dedicated her career to working with vulnerable children, youth and families. Her experience includes working in the non-profit field, for local government agencies, and in the public education system.  Through this work, she discovered a passion for youth leadership development and system transformation.

Within her role at the County Office of Education, she is committed to promoting equity in her community and in expanding systems to support populations that are typically underserved.  She views the Compassionate Systems Framework as an anchor in creating meaningful systems change and is excited to participate in the Certification Program for Compassionate Systems Master Practitioners.
