Katie is a caring and diligent leader in education who strives to uplift and support the students, families, administrators, and staff she works with. Katie currently lives in Trinidad, California where her professional focus is on continual improvement of the student programs and services offered by Humboldt County Office of Education (HCOE). As the Assistant Superintendent at HCOE Katie approaches her work with an encouraging, optimistic, and diligent mindset, striving to create an environment conducive to success for all.   She holds Bachelor’s degrees in Anthropology and Social Sciences, as well as a Master’s degree in Psychology with an emphasis in School Psychology. Prior to transitioning into administration in 2017, Katie spent was a school psychologist, serving students from kindergarten to twelfth grade in rural California.

Her career path has seen her evolve from a school psychologist to roles in school administration, including serving as a principal/superintendent and later as a director of special education. Now, as the Assistant Superintendent at HCOE, she continues to channel her passion for supporting the development and growth of students, families and staff.

Personally, she finds immense joy exploring the great outdoors (minus the mosquitos), whether it’s snowboarding, backpacking, or simply being near any body of water, especially when accompanied by her family and Friends.
