Julie Groll

Director, Program Operations
ASAPconnect
U.S. Hub: California | NORTH AMERICA

I bring project management, communications, and analysis experience to help my team stay on top of our programs and new developments, oversee convenings and communications with expanded learning communities, and manage the team’s grants and partnerships. I strive to lean in with my top Gallup Strengths: Connectedness, Context, Relator, Learner, and Developer.

Who is ASAPconnect? We provide multiple levels of support to help develop comprehensive, coordinated, and exemplary Technical Assistance (TA) providers, who in turn become equipped to support high quality expanded learning programs (before school, after school, and summer learning) and create safe and supportive environments for staff and students throughout California. Our support includes strategic planning, meeting design, meeting facilitation, consulting as thought partners, brokering of resources, transformational coaching, strengths-based workshops, and annual leadership development cohorts for site-level leaders and youth.

Prior to joining ASAP in August 2019, I was at Deloitte where I managed learning and community building programs for a large practice of consultants and financial services professionals. Before Deloitte, I led market research for an education company, collecting input from teachers and principals about K-12 online professional development and supplemental classroom products. I started my professional life in high tech market research, despite having planned to be a teacher.

My passion for the power of education to provide opportunity for all has found an amazing home at ASAP. I am excited to be working in education again and am lucky to be part of a fantastic team. Aiming that passion locally, I serve as Chair of Willow Glen Cares, a non-profit helping underprivileged students in our school community address their challenges so they can concentrate on learning, not just survival.

I earned a B.A. in Liberal Studies from California State University, Chico. I live in San Jose with my husband, our teenage son, and our Transylvanian Hound – just a few miles from where I grew up. I love all kinds of music, movies, and books, and I can’t wait to travel again.
