Corry Climenhage is a Reggio-inspired educational leader based in the small town of Quesnel, BC, Canada. She currently serves as Principal of Dragon Lake Elementary School and District SOGI (Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity) Lead for School District 28. Her professional passions include holistic approaches to learning: Land-based Education, Performing Arts, Inquiry-driven practice, integrated curriculum, and equity in education.
With 25 years of teaching experience, Corry has worked in International Baccalaureate, private, and public schools across the globe. Her teaching and leadership journey has taken her to Morocco, China, Hong Kong, Tanzania, Ethiopia, the Solomon Islands, Saudi Arabia, and Canada.
Alongside her work in education, Corry is a musician, singer, and choral director/arranger. She plays banjo-uke, mando-uke, and percussion, and performs with her band Milltown Philosophers, currently completing their second album with both local and international recognition.
At home, Corry and her husband James enjoy a life rooted in creativity, nature, and connection; gardening, cooking, making music, and spending time with their two Sphinx cats, her stepsons, and grandchildren in their peaceful home on the edge of town.
