Dr. Colby Smart has years of experience facilitating professional learning networks, communities of practice, consultation, instructional leadership, and administrative leadership. He has taught at Ferndale High School and Clear Lake High School. Colby has been a national digital coach for the National Commission on Teaching and America’s Future (NCTAF) a Washington, D.C. education non-profit. In this capacity, Colby worked with pre-service teachers and faculty at the University of Texas, University of North Carolina, Georgia State University and the University of Colorado. Colby is very passionate about facilitating the development of transformative learning experiences leveraging the power of technology to connect students globally. He has his Master’s in Educational Technology from Pepperdine University and his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of New England. He currently works as Deputy Superintendent of Schools at the Humboldt County Office of Education and adjunct faculty in Educational Leadership at Humboldt State University.
