I am a 36-year-old teacher who works and lives in a suburb in Copenhagen. I teach Danish, English, Physics, and home education. I have been a teacher for more than a decade and I still really thrive in it. I started my career working at a school with privileged kids, but after about five years, I got a new job at a school with more diversity among the kids. This new situation made me focus a lot more on how our school system works, and I felt an urge to seek for new possibilities in how to make a better school for the kids.
The last couple of years I have felt passionate about how we can develop the school, so it becomes more relatable for the children and more connected to the society and the world around us.
As a member of the municipal network The Future School, I have been a pioneer in how we could see the school differently. The first step for me has been working with the project-based learning form to change the classic way we teach. After being introduced to the Compassionate System, I see it as a core in developing the school continuously.
And last, but most importantly, I am the mother of two lovely kids, Jonathan and Aya, and married to a wonderful man, Tim.
