Lejre | Denmark
My name is Charlotte Wilstrup Kiellberg. I am 53 years old and live in Lejre Municipality in Denmark, close to both forest and sea — a setting that gives me calm, perspective, and energy in everyday life. I live with my husband, Jacob, and our two sons, Fabian (18) and Vitus (16). Our two older sons, Sebastian (27) and Marcus (28), are currently living abroad, studying and working.
I was trained as a teacher in 1998 and later specialized in reading and writing, which has given me extensive knowledge of literacy development and dyslexia. Supporting students with reading and writing difficulties has been a meaningful and defining part of my professional journey, and it continues to shape my commitment to inclusion and equity in education.
Today, I work as a school principal, where I am dedicated to creating learning environments in which both children and adults feel safe, valued, and able to grow. I believe that strong relationships, trust, and a sense of belonging form the foundation for meaningful learning and sustainable change, and I consistently strive to put people before systems in my leadership practice. In my work, I focus on strengthening collaboration, fostering professional learning communities, and ensuring that all students experience participation and opportunity.
I am deeply interested in how leadership can integrate empathy, reflection, and systems thinking to navigate complexity and support lasting, positive change. I strive to lead with curiosity and care, and to create spaces where dialogue, shared responsibility, and mutual understanding can flourish.
Joining the Compassionate Systems Master Practitioners program is an opportunity for me to deepen both my personal and professional practice. I am motivated to explore how compassion and systems awareness can strengthen resilience, well-being, and collective capacity within schools and communities.
I look forward to learning alongside others and to bringing new insights and perspectives back into my work.
