Indonesia Hub | ASIA
I have been working as an educator for 20 years. In my career, I worked in England, Portugal and Germany, and now I work in Indonesia. Having worked as a teacher, a head of faculty for modern foreign languages, and an IB Middle Years Programme coordinator (IB MYP), I now work as an Assistant Headteacher and IB MYP coordinator in an international school in Jakarta.
I started teaching at the British School Jakarta in August 2019 where I was introduced to the use of Compassionate System tools. Our Principal, David, had organised a professional development day for new staff and after the first day I asked to attend the other two. Since then, I was fortunate to participate in different events during which I developed my understanding of Compassionate Systems. We launched a series of initiatives in our school working with Gus Böll, the Youth Coach at the Center for Systems Awareness, and our Youth Ambassadors in order to raise awareness about Compassionate Systems. Our Youth Ambassadors and our newly trained MIT/Compassionate Systems students have helped our adult staff with gaining a deeper understanding of Compassionate Systems. We are now at the start of our journey aiming to grow Compassionate Systems thinkers. This path has proven to be exciting, challenging and rewarding and I am grateful for being part of the journey.
